Set to Shine Under the Taiwanese Sky Marzocchi will bring its 60 years of tradition and an exciting product line up, which covers all mountain bike disciplines from its Cross Country 29” through its downhill forks to Enduro and Dirt Jumper suspensions to Taipei from March 20-23. Company confirms team and rider partnerships for 2013. Bologna, Italy, February 6th, 2013
Marzocchi today said it will be present at the Taipei International Cycle Show and reconfirmed its partnerships with Marathon World Champion Ilias Periklis, UCI DH Champion Morgane Charre, multi-champion Michal Prokop and slopestyle riders including Andreu Lacondeguy and Sam Pilgrim for 2013.
The Racing Heart
2012 was a winning year for Marzocchi, which conquered the competition in international events with successes that included the Marathon World Championship last October in Ornas and the UCI Gravity and MTX Championship (Fort William and Val d’Isère). As a result, the number of riders equipped by Marzocchi has been increased to include freestylers Tyler McCaul and Greg Watts. The Italian company will also sponsor the newly-formed Cross Country Controltech Team, which already scored a double win in the Calusco D’Adda race on January 6. Marzocchi will be present at the Downhill stages, including those expected for the Enduro World Series, to provide full on-site support to ensure its riders have the optimum set ups.
Last July, Marzocchi announced that its mountain bike forks would be built by Taiwanese mountain bike and component manufacturer Hodaka. Marzocchi is sharing its world-class business processes in supply chain management, industrialization and distribution with Hodaka to help flex production according to market requirements and shorten time to market as part of its commitment to product quality, availability and reliability. Marzocchi in Bologna, Italy, will continue to be the global centre for R&D – developing the technology for all markets as has always been the tradition. Fork production in Taiwan is overseen by Marzocchi’s Asia office in close cooperation with Bologna for both engineering and manufacturing. Sales support is assured by Marzocchi teams in Asia, Italy and North America, the latter who are based in Long Beach, California. Sales teams worldwide will continue to be supported by Bologna for all things associated with R&D, design and engineering.
Top Flight Technology
Marzocchi continues to develop state-of-the‐art solutions for its products, such as the Dynamic Bleeding Cartridge (DBC) system developed from the experience collected by Marzocchi in the motocross field. The DBC system combines the damping feeling and reliability of an open bath cartridge with the performance of a lightweight sealed cartridge, resulting in a longer lasting and more efficient product. The system allows lubricating oil to enter the cartridge and exit freely, without compromising the overall functioning of the fork. The DBC system requires less sealing components, resulting in a longer lasting product requiring less maintenance than a closed solution. This means less friction and more fluid fork and bike behavior. The system allows oil savings of approximately 120 grams compared to a closed sealed cartridge. DBC technology will be used on a new range of products, which will be presented in spring time.
